Verdict

Strong character building and solid image generation at a low annual price, but long-term memory, video and voice chat sit on the $34.99 Ultimate tier and advanced models and memory bill extra credits per message.

What works

Character builder with 300+ appearance and personality options and a persona system Image generation is fast and keeps a companion’s look consistent across renders Annual pricing is cheap: Premium works out at $5 a month, Pro at $10 Published terms list prohibited content explicitly and NSFW is an opt-in toggle

What holds it back

Long-term memory and 64K context are Ultimate-only, and memory adds 2 credits to every message Video is limited to Ultimate and reviewers describe it as keyword-triggered pre-made clips Advanced models cost 2–20 credits per message, so heavy users buy credit packs on top of a subscription

What Nectar AI is

Nectar AI is a web-based companion platform where users build a girlfriend, boyfriend or anime character from a large set of appearance and personality controls, then chat, generate images and, on the top tier, exchange video and voice messages. The site footer names Lick Labs Ltd of London as the operator, with a US registration in Delaware. Reviews date the launch to 2023; the site does not say. The homepage leans on adult use (‘the AI is designed to not hold back’) while also offering PG-style interaction, and NSFW is a toggle that is off by default.

Features

Chat runs on a standard model included in every plan, with ‘advanced’ models available for a per-message credit charge of 2 to 20 credits. Independent testers rate roleplay quality above Candy AI’s and note that community characters vary widely. A persona system lets you define who you are in the story; Premium allows one persona, Pro three, Ultimate ten.

Memory is tiered by context window: 15 messages on the free plan, 8K on Premium, 16K on Pro, and 64K plus a separate ‘Long Term Memory’ store on Ultimate. Using that memory costs a further 2 credits per message. Reviewers report that recall on the lower tiers fades after roughly 50 messages and that basic context resets between sessions.

Images come from two in-house models (V2 for quality, V1 for likeness) plus realistic, Asian and anime styles. Testers report renders in a few seconds, good face consistency, and the usual failures with hands and with clothing instructions. Premium allows 100 generations a day; Pro and Ultimate are unlimited with HD output.

Video and voice chat are Ultimate-only. One 2026 review describes the video as keyword-triggered pre-made clips rather than generation from a prompt. Voice messages have 11 preset voices, 50 to 100 included per month depending on plan, then 25 credits each.

Pricing

Three paid plans, with annual billing at roughly half price. Premium is $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year ($5 a month); Pro is $19.99 a month or $119.99 a year; Ultimate is $34.99 a month or $179.99 a year ($15 a month). Premium includes 6,000 messages a month, Pro 9,000, Ultimate unlimited. Ultimate also bundles 2,500 ‘advanced’ credits a month. Credit packs run from $4.99 for 2,500 credits to $99.99 for 50,000 plus a 15,000 bonus. At 2 to 20 credits a message for advanced models plus 2 for memory, a Premium subscriber who wants the better model on every turn will spend the $4.99 pack in a few hundred messages; several reviewers report heavy users adding $60 to $75 a month in credits.

The free tier is usable indefinitely: 15 messages and 10 image generations a day and one custom companion.

Content policy

The terms are clearer than most. NSFW mode requires users to be 18, and prohibited content is listed by name: minors, bestiality, non-consensual sex, incest, urination, extreme violence, prostitution, abduction, illicit activity and hate speech. What the terms do not spell out is how moderation is applied inside enabled NSFW chat, so users may hit filters without a stated rule. Subscriptions are non-refundable except where law requires, with case-by-case exceptions.

Who it is for

People who enjoy building a character in detail and want good still images at a low annual price. It suits light-to-moderate chatters on Premium or Pro. Anyone whose main interest is persistent memory, video or voice will be pushed to Ultimate and then into credits, and should budget accordingly.

Research basis: desk research from the official site and public user reports, September 2026.

How to cancel Nectar AI

Nectar AI subscriptions bought on the website are managed in the browser.

  1. Log in at nectar.ai and open your Profile.

  2. Go to Settings, then Subscription and Credits.

  3. Choose to cancel renewal and confirm; the plan stays active until the end of the current period.

The terms say you can also cancel by emailing support@nectar.ai or via the Discord support channel, and that paid fees are non-refundable except where required by law, with case-by-case exceptions at the company’s discretion. If you subscribed through an iOS app, cancel in the App Store subscriptions screen on your device rather than on the website.
