What works

Premium is $9.99 a month or $35.88 a year, shown before sign-up, with no credit layer for images Lasting free plan with no card: daily messages, one image and one custom character Consistent-face images requested from inside the chat, plus a dedicated generator and a character builder with a 254-plus roster GDPR-style privacy notice with a data protection officer and a 24-hour refund window written into the terms

What holds it back

No voice, no calls, no video generation and no documented memory; the “Live Action” beta is unexplained Operator is “SweetAI Limited” with no address, no jurisdiction and no named AI model Terms are silent on adult content and the refund clause refers to “tokens” the product does not sell; free message limits are stated as both 20 and 10

What Sweet AI is

Sweet AI (styled SweetAI.me) is a web-based AI girlfriend app built around two things: text chat with a roster of pre-made women and a character you design yourself, and photo-realistic images of that character generated inside the chat. The site is openly adult. An age gate on every page says it “contains AI-generated adult conversations and imagery”, the Premium page sells “uncensored AI image generation”, and the free plan blurs or locks most photos. The privacy notice names the operator as “SweetAI Limited” without an address or country; the terms name no entity at all and no governing jurisdiction. There is no app, no voice and no video generation, although a “Live Action” beta badge with short preview clips appeared on the home page in October 2026. Sweet AI is not the same product as SweetAI Chat (sweetai.chat), a separate adult chat platform with a different operator and pricing, nor the Android app “Sweet AI - Virtual Companion”, and third-party listings routinely conflate the three.

Chat and roleplay

Each character has a short tagline, a backstory paragraph and a “How you meet” scenario that sets up the opening message; Marisol, for example, is a night-shift nurse in Houston who keeps a basil plant on the staff fridge. The directory showed 254 to 266 characters in October 2026, filterable by ethnicity, age, body and hair and by style tags such as Glam, Cottagecore, Old-Money and Y2K, while the company’s own blog still describes “120+” characters, so the roster has roughly doubled in recent months. The image generator page adds Anime and Guys tabs, which is the only place men appear. The help centre says the AI “adapts dynamically to user prompts and themes” and supports casual chat through to longer narratives; the home page promises “advanced emotional modeling”. No language model is named and no independent review of conversation quality existed in October 2026. The free plan’s message cap is stated as 20 a day in the FAQ and blog and as “10 free messages today” in the chat banner, a conflict the site does not explain.

Memory

Memory is a marketing claim rather than a documented feature. The home page says every companion “remembers details across conversations” and that “every message and every image feeds into the same memory and personality model”; the help centre says companions “evolve through ongoing interaction”. Nowhere does the site say how much is retained, whether there is a persistent memory store, whether you can view or edit it, or what the context window is. The only concrete continuity promise is visual: images keep “the same face and style across the conversation”. Until the company publishes something firmer, treat memory as the usual short-term chat context.

Models and technology

Sweet AI names no chat or image model. Its blog on pictures describes the general mechanism: the request and the character profile are turned into an image prompt, and “an image model generates the photo”, with a consistent face and outfit per character. The privacy notice says payment, hosting and analytics providers process data but does not name any AI provider. Checkout and billing are handled by Gumroad, a marketplace more often used by indie creators than by subscription apps, and the FAQ says charges “appear under a neutral merchant name”. The site is a modern web app that works in mobile and desktop browsers; the home page claims 80,000 members, 3.2 million messages and 420,000 photos, none of which can be checked.

Images, video and voice

Images are the main draw. You ask in chat and the companion returns a photo of herself in the scene, with outfit controls and a face that stays consistent; a dedicated Generate page lets you pick a character and create pictures outside a conversation. The free plan includes one image; Premium unlocks “all HD photos (remove blur & locks)” and uncensored prompts. No per-image cost is published because there are no credits: Premium is described as unlimited apart from “priority response time”, though no fair-use limit is stated. There is no video generation and no voice. The home page’s “Design her look, voice and personality” line refers to a personality field, not audio; the company’s own comparison page concedes that “SweetAI focuses on text chat and images” and that rivals with voice calls may suit some users better. The “Live Action” beta shows short pre-rendered clips of twelve characters labelled LIVE; the site does not explain what the feature does for a user.

Beyond chat: what else it does

The character creator runs through four tabs: Basics (gender, ethnicity, an age slider from 18 to 60 that defaults to 22), Hair and Eyes, Body, and Personality, with occupation and interests also mentioned on the home page. The free plan allows one custom character; Premium makes them unlimited. There is a Feed of recent characters with preview clips, a Collection and a “Private Content” area for unlocked photos, a help centre of eight questions, a blog of four posts and a set of “alternatives” pages comparing Sweet AI with Candy AI, Character AI, Replika, Nomi, Kindroid, CrushOn and Janitor AI. There is no community feed of user-made characters, no group chat, no roleplay scenario library and no API.

The free tier, honestly

The free plan is real and does not expire: no card is required, you can open any character, send 20 messages a day (or 10, depending on which part of the site you believe), generate one image and build one custom character. Photos beyond the first are blurred or locked, and image prompts are censored. Character creation can be started without an account. That is enough to judge whether the writing suits you, and it is more generous than the one-off credit drops many adult apps offer, but anyone who wants the images, which is the point of the product, will need Premium within a day.

Platforms and apps

Web only, in English. There is no iOS or Android app from SweetAI Limited. The Google Play app “Sweet AI - Virtual Companion” (package com.mxxtech.sweetai, about 22,000 reviews) is a different developer’s product and does not link to sweetai.me; installing it will not give you this service. Because Sweet AI is a browser product it is not subject to app-store content rules, which is why it can sell uncensored images at all.

Support, cancellation and refunds

Support is by email: support@sweetai.me for account and billing, dpo@sweetai.me for privacy requests, with stated hours of Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 UTC and replies “usually within 1-2 business days”. The subscription is month-to-month (or quarterly or yearly) and the home page says you can cancel from your account in one click, effective immediately. The terms give a 24-hour refund window: email within 24 hours of payment, and the refund is denied “if more than 20 tokens have been used”, a rule that refers to tokens the product does not sell and reads as copied from another service. Refunds for the user’s own technical problems are excluded. Since billing runs through Gumroad, the charge and any refund will show under Gumroad’s descriptor rather than the brand name.

Who it is for

Sweet AI suits someone who wants an inexpensive, uncensored text-and-pictures girlfriend in a browser, is happy to pay yearly ($35.88 for twelve months is among the lowest headline prices in the category) and does not care about voice, video, memory controls or who the company is. The free plan is good enough to test the writing before paying. It is not for people who want calls, a mobile app, roleplay with other users’ characters, documented memory, or an operator with an address. The Premium page is plain about price, the refund window is short but stated, and the biggest doubts are the unnamed company, the terms that never mention the adult content the site is built on, and the month-old numbers that disagree with each other.

Research basis: desk research from the official site, help centre, terms and public user reports, October 2026.

The maths are simple because there is no credit layer. A monthly subscriber pays $119.88 over a year; a yearly subscriber pays $35.88 for the same features, which is why the site pushes the annual plan with a 70% badge. Unlike many rivals the badge is honest: $2.99 against $9.99 really is 70%, and $9.99 is the price actually charged month to month. Local taxes may be added at Gumroad checkout. Note that the only way to try Premium is to buy a month and use the 24-hour refund window, since there is no trial despite the “Start your Premium trial” button text.

What you do not get for the money is any media beyond still images: no video, no voice, no calls. Compared with apps that charge $12 to $15 a month and then meter images in credits, Sweet AI is cheap for unlimited pictures, provided the undisclosed fair-use limits behind “priority response time” are not a problem in practice.

Safety, privacy and content policy

What the terms allow and ban

The terms of service carry no effective date, no company name and no governing jurisdiction (they are “governed by applicable laws regardless of your location”). They ban sexual or inappropriate content involving minors, violence, terrorism, harassment, impersonation, scraping and malware. They say nothing about adult content between adults, which is what the site sells: the age gate, the Premium page and the FAQ all describe uncensored conversations and imagery. The marketing is clear and the contract is silent.

Age checks

Self-declaration only. The age gate asks you to confirm you are 18 and of legal age where you live; the terms say the company may close accounts if it discovers a user is a minor. No verification provider or regional regime is mentioned.

Data and privacy

The privacy notice names “SweetAI Limited” as operator but gives no address or country. It covers GDPR legal bases for EEA, UK and Swiss users, lists access, erasure and portability rights and names a data protection officer. Chat logs are stored as usage data; the home page says conversations are “encrypted at rest” and never sold. Retention is “as long as necessary”. No AI provider is named and model training is not addressed.

History

None found. No Trustpilot profile, press coverage, store listings or regulator action existed in October 2026; no archived copies of the site were found, which suggests a 2026 launch.

Where marketing and terms disagree

The refund clause denies refunds after “20 tokens” are used, but the product has no tokens. The FAQ promises 20 free messages a day while the chat banner says 10. The home page lists “voice” among the things you design, while the company’s own comparison page says voice is not offered. The “Premium trial” button leads to a paid plan.

How to cancel Sweet AI

Sweet AI is web only. Sign in at sweetai.me, open your account or subscription settings and cancel; the site says this works in one click and takes effect immediately, so do it near the end of a billing period rather than the start. Payments run through Gumroad, which means you can also cancel from the Gumroad subscription link in your receipt email or in your Gumroad library if the site control fails, and the charge on your card will carry a neutral merchant name rather than Sweet AI. Refunds are only considered within 24 hours of a payment, by email to support@sweetai.me with your account details, and are refused once the service has been used beyond a small amount. To delete your data as well, email dpo@sweetai.me; the privacy notice promises deletion or anonymisation within a reasonable time.

Questions people ask

Is Sweet AI free?

There is a lasting free plan with no card: 20 messages a day according to the FAQ (the chat screen says 10), one image and one custom character. Most photos are blurred or locked until you pay. Premium starts at $2.99 a month on the yearly plan.

How much does Sweet AI cost?

Premium is $9.99 a month, $5.99 a month billed quarterly, or $2.99 a month billed as $35.88 a year. All tiers include unlimited messages, unlimited custom characters, HD photos and uncensored image generation. Billing is through Gumroad.

Does Sweet AI allow NSFW?

Yes. The site is an 18+ service that sells uncensored chat and uncensored image generation to Premium members. The terms do not describe adult-content rules beyond banning anything involving minors.

Does Sweet AI have an app?

No. Sweet AI runs in a web browser. The Android app called “Sweet AI - Virtual Companion” is a different developer’s product and is not connected to sweetai.me.

Does Sweet AI have voice or video?

No voice messages or calls, and no video generation. A “Live Action” beta on the home page shows short preview clips of some characters, but the site does not explain the feature.

What is Sweet AI’s refund policy?

Email support@sweetai.me within 24 hours of payment. The terms deny refunds if “more than 20 tokens” have been used, a clause that refers to a currency the product does not have, and exclude technical issues on your side.

Who runs Sweet AI?

The privacy notice names “SweetAI Limited” without an address or country; the terms name no company and no jurisdiction. It is not the same company as SweetAI Chat (sweetai.chat).

How do I cancel Sweet AI?

From your account settings on the site; the home page says cancellation takes effect immediately in one click. Because billing runs through Gumroad, you can also manage the subscription from the Gumroad receipt or library.

Is Sweet AI down right now?

Live result from our monitor, which loads the public homepage every 15 minutes from a server in Europe. If the site is up but the app misbehaves after login, that is an in-app problem the check cannot see.
