What OurDream AI is

OurDream AI (ourdream.ai) is an adult AI companion and character-roleplay platform whose terms name Dream Studio USA, Inc. and Dream Studio LLC of Albuquerque, New Mexico, together with Tektopia Ltd, a Cyprus-registered company, as the operating entities. The domain was registered in late 2024 and the service launched publicly in early 2025, which makes it one of the younger names in the category; by mid-2026 the homepage was claiming more than ten million users and seven million user-created characters, figures we cannot check. It is a web application with no native app. The pitch is “one subscription, one coin balance, everything included”, and unlike some competitors OurDream actually publishes what everything costs.

Chat and roleplay

Chat is built on a DeepSeek-V3-derived model, which OurDream offers in several presets (Balanced, Smart, Creative, Genius and a “Lively Genius” variant). Standard presets cost nothing per message for subscribers; the two Genius models cost one DreamCoin per response. Reviewers in 2026 describe the writing as coherent, willing on adult themes and less prone to the “yes, and” blandness of older companion models, with the caveat that DeepSeek-style prose can run purple in long scenes. Characters can be created with detailed backstories, example dialogues and opening lines, and the public library is large; a community rulebook, last updated in spring 2026, governs what can be published (racial slurs, degradation themes and certain scenarios are rejected). Group chats exist on paid plans. Voice narration of replies is free with selected voices and five coins per paragraph with premium ones. One thing to note: a moderation tightening reported by users on 6 September 2026 blocks more violence in roleplay, which has upset the action and martial-arts storytellers on the platform.

Memory

OurDream is more transparent about memory than most. There is an automatic memory log that the system regenerates roughly every twenty AI messages, and a “pinned memories” field the user controls, expanded in 2026 from 5,000 to 15,000 characters. The community guide linked from the official help centre explains how to keep the auto log on track with a recap command, which tells you two things: continuity across weeks is achievable, and it takes some housekeeping. Public reports from long-term users are broadly positive about recall of names, relationship state and earlier scenes, and this is the main reason OurDream scores above Candy on memory. It is still a summarisation system, not an unlimited transcript, so fine details from early sessions can fade unless pinned.

Models and technology

OurDream is unusually open about tiers and unusually quiet about vendors. Its help centre names four chat models: Balanced and Lively, which are included with a subscription, and two ‘Thinking’ models, Genius and Lively Genius, which cost one dreamcoin per response. Some reviewers still quote older labels such as Smart and Creative. The company does not say what sits underneath; the widely repeated claim that conversations run on DeepSeek-V3 comes from third-party reviews, not from OurDream.

Image generation is exposed as a picker between Realistic, Anime – Standard and Anime – Experimental, the last trained on Danbooru-style tags; the community FAQ calls the anime engine the ‘Fluidity Anime Generator’. Reviewers refer to the realistic models as Dreamy, Vivid and Vivid-2, and two editing models, Spark (10 coins) and Eclipse (20 coins, NSFW-focused), match the help centre’s ‘10–20 coins depending on model’. One review claims a Stable Diffusion 1.5 base, which is plausible for the tag-driven prompting but unconfirmed.

Video is metered rather than named: Standard clips cost 100 coins per five seconds up to a minute, an Ultra tier costs 200 coins, and an audio track can be added at 20 coins per second. No video model is disclosed. Voice uses an unnamed text-to-speech system with 19 preset voices; live calls cost 50 coins a minute and narration ranges from free to five coins a paragraph. There is no API, and no context-window figure is published, though the official chat guide caps pinned memories at 15,000 characters.

Images, video and voice

Image generation is the strongest part of the media offer: 10 coins for two standard images, five coins for an automatic in-chat image, with edit and enhance options at 10–20 coins. Characters keep a consistent face across generations, and the 1,000 monthly coins stretch to roughly 200 standard images if you do nothing else. Voice calls cost 50 coins a minute and use about 19 preset voices; quality is serviceable rather than remarkable. Video is where the maths turns against you. Standard video is 100 coins per five seconds, up to 60 seconds (1,200 coins, more than a month’s allowance, for a single one-minute clip), plus 200 coins for “ultra” quality and 20 coins per second to add audio. Independent reviewers and Trustpilot reporters through 2026 describe failure rates of a third or more on video jobs and frequent drift from the prompt on clothing, pose and scene. The help centre says coins are refunded automatically for time-outs and policy blocks, but users report that “server error” failures and low-quality results are not compensated. Treat video as an occasional novelty.

Beyond chat: what else it does

OurDream bundles more tooling than most companion apps, almost all of it metered in dreamcoins on top of the $19.99 monthly (or $119.88 yearly) subscription, which includes 1,000 coins a month.

• Character builder: an eight-phase form with scenario, personality rules, lore, physical prompts, gallery images, tags and voice; creators can script chaptered or metered progression with status bars. Public bots pass manual review in three to five days. Creating a bot costs 10 coins.

• Group chat: multiple characters in one room, with responders picked by portrait or @-mention; reviewers report a cap of 12.

• Memory tools: an auto memory log every 20 messages, pinned memories up to 15,000 characters, custom instructions, personas and /Analyze and /Direct commands.

• Images: five coins in chat, two images for ten in the studio, plus Spark or Eclipse editing; no reference-photo uploads.

• Video: text- and image-to-video in five-second steps to 60 seconds, Ultra quality, extension and audio, at 100 to 1,200-plus coins.

• Voice: live calls at 50 coins a minute and paid or free narration voices.

• Community packs: a character’s full media library for 250 to 1,000 coins, viewable only while subscribed.

• Feed: a social-style stream of character videos and ready scenarios, capped for free users.

• Earning coins: referral codes, contests and gifting, and a 40% revenue-share affiliate programme with a Telegram bot for community owners.

• Platform: multi-language replies on request, a Discord server, a separate safety site with 18+ policy, and no native app (home-screen shortcut only).

There are no lorebooks in the SillyTavern sense, no API or proxy support, and no AR, VR or SMS features. A ‘lust level’ slider and a Deluxe tier with tripled memory are described by reviewers but not documented by OurDream.

The free tier, honestly

OurDream has a genuine free plan rather than a timed trial. As reported in September 2026 it gives around 50 messages a day, a small daily image allowance, and 55 coins on sign-up; free-tier chat draws one coin per message once the daily allowance is used, and there is no way to buy coins without a subscription. Video, voice calls, group chat and unlimited messaging are paid-only. You can meaningfully test the chat quality and the character library for free, which is more than Candy allows, but the moment you want media the answer is the $19.99 plan.

Platforms and apps

Browser only. The official help article says plainly that there is no standalone app and walks through adding the site to an iPhone or Android home screen. Payment is by card or cryptocurrency; the help centre lists no PayPal. Crypto payments are processed with a 15-minute-plus delay and are never refundable. There is no discreet billing descriptor promised on the site, so check your statement expectations before paying by card.

Support, cancellation and refunds

Cancellation is done from the profile page: open Profile, click Cancel subscription, confirm (there is a retention screen with a coin offer and a warning about what you lose). Access continues to the end of the period and unused coins remain usable until then. Two consequences are worth stressing. First, when the subscription lapses every image and video you generated is blurred until you resubscribe, so download anything you want to keep. Second, coins do not expire but cannot be spent on media without an active plan. Refunds go through the “Request Help” button on the profile page with the product, charge date, amount and reason. The published rule is that nothing is refunded once more than 25% of the product has been used; monthly plans are not refunded if that month’s coins have been used; annual plans may be refunded in part; crypto is never refunded. The formal policy also mentions a 14-day framework, which does not quite match the help article, so ask early. Card refunds take five to ten business days. Support answers within one to two days according to the site; user reports are mixed, with several complaints of unanswered tickets about failed generations.

Who it is for

OurDream fits someone who wants to know the price of every action before paying, cares about character creation and memory tooling, and is mostly interested in chat and images. It is a sensible annual purchase for that person. It is a poor fit for anyone buying it for the video feature, anyone who pays in crypto and might want money back, and anyone whose roleplay leans on violence now that moderation has tightened.
