LIVE STATUS
Is SpicyChat down right now? Live status and outage history
SpicyChat serves a dozen open-weight models to a large free user base, and queues or errors at busy times are common. This page checks spicychat.ai every 15 minutes and keeps 30 days of history.
Queues are not outages
On the free tier and the cheapest plan, slow replies at peak hours are usually a queue rather than a failure: paid tiers get priority on the same models. If the site is green here and replies are merely slow, that is the expected behaviour of the free tier.
What to check when it fails
Try switching to a different model in the chat settings, since individual models are sometimes down while the site is up. SpicyChat posts incident notes on its Discord. If the site itself does not load, the result above will turn red within 15 minutes.
Alternatives while it is down
Janitor AI is the closest free substitute for text roleplay. Chub AI and SillyTavern suit people who want to pick their own model. For roleplay with images and video, MyBabes and Candy AI are the usual choices. SpicyChat is compared with each of them on this site.
