What Darlink AI is

Darlink AI (the site styles it DarLink) is a web-based AI girlfriend platform run by FameLink SA, a company registered in Montsevelier in the Swiss canton of Jura (company number CHE-443.347.069). Third-party directories date its launch to late 2023. It combines four things in one account: a character builder, a chat interface, an image and video generator, and a public feed of companions made by other users, each shown with the creator’s handle. The site is openly adult. Its own navigation labels the chat “AI NSFW Chat” and the generator “AI Porn”, NSFW characters are blurred behind a Show control on the feed, and every paid plan lists NSFW as a feature. That openness on the marketing side sits awkwardly next to its terms, which is the most important thing to understand about the service and is covered in the safety section below.

Chat and roleplay

Chat is one-to-one with a companion you build or one you pick from the feed. The feed is large and mostly user-made: an August 2026 review counted about 334,000 realistic, 44,000 anime and 7,000 furry characters, with filters for relationship, personality, occupation, body type and more. Characters come with a written scenario that sets up the roleplay, and quality varies as much as you would expect from an open library. Some public scenarios lean on dark premises such as war, captivity or coercion; how the model handles them is not documented.

Roleplay depth is sold in tiers. Essential offers “Quick Roleplay creation”, Advanced “Deep Roleplay creation” and Ultimate “Unlimited Roleplay creation” plus an “Elite Roleplay Engine”. Darlink does not explain what separates the three or which language models sit behind them, so the ladder can only be judged by paying for it. Public user reports are split. One January 2026 Trustpilot reviewer called the roleplay “top-tier” and natural; another, on Essential, said the character ignored scene changes and argued with them, and a December 2025 reviewer found chats repetitive after a while. Message speed is also tiered, with “Fastest Messaging Time” reserved for the two upper plans.

Memory

Memory follows the same pattern: “Basic memory” on Essential, “Enhanced memory” on Advanced and “Living memory” on Ultimate, which the site’s upgrade banner promotes. No context size, memory slot count or recall method is published, so there is nothing to compare with apps that state their limits. The marketing copy says your companion “remembers the details that matter to you”. The one detailed public complaint about memory comes from an Essential subscriber who said the character forgot things almost immediately and that old chats could not be deleted. On the evidence available, assume short memory on the entry plan and treat the higher tiers as unproven until independent reports appear.

Models and technology

The terms say the service is “developed in-house”, but Darlink names no chat model, image model or voice provider. Image file names on the public feed reference a workflow labelled with an open-weights image model (Z-Image Turbo) alongside a generic “base workflow”, which suggests a standard open-source image pipeline rather than a proprietary one; Darlink has not confirmed this. The generator page shows a “Standard” engine with a “Pro” option marked “coming soon”. Image prompts can be written as free text or built from parameters, in portrait, landscape or square formats, either for an existing character or as a new image.

Images, video and voice

Images and videos are paid from a token balance. The plan page states the rate openly: 2 tokens per image and 20 tokens per video on every plan, which is more than most rivals publish before sign-up. Voice messages are reported by third-party guides to cost about half a token each. Paid plans include 100, 300 or 500 tokens a month, and extra packs run from $9.99 for 100 tokens to $599.99 for 7,500.

Output quality draws the most consistent criticism. Several Trustpilot reviews from 2026 describe images that look pre-made and do not follow prompts closely, slow generation, and short, weak video clips; one reviewer said prompts were wrong “8 out of 10 times”, another that the realistic style is heavily biased towards one beauty aesthetic. A minority of reviewers praise the media. Voice is a choice of preset voices (six standard on Essential, ten premium above it) attached to messages; the plan pages do not advertise live voice calls.

Beyond chat: what else it does

Darlink is closer to a creator platform than most AI girlfriend sites. Companions you publish appear in the Explore feed with your handle, paid plans carry a Creator Badge, and Advanced and Ultimate let you add a support link to your profile, which implies creators can point fans elsewhere for tips. There is an affiliate programme, a Discord community and a blog that mostly targets adult search terms. The terms also mention “AI avatars of public personalities developed by our team”, which is unusual and risky territory for an adult product; how those avatars are used was not visible on the public pages.

The free tier, honestly

A free tier exists in name. The terms refer to downgrading to a “free/basic service tier”, and the generator shows a “Free trial” label, but the plan page lists only the three paid plans and publishes no free message count, token grant or reset period. Independent guides that tried to document it reached the same conclusion: the free access is a short trial for judging the interface, not a plan you can live on. If you only want to see whether you like the characters, browsing the feed costs nothing; anything sustained needs a subscription.

Platforms and apps

Darlink is a website that works in desktop and mobile browsers. There is no Darlink companion app on the Apple App Store as of October 2026 (an app with the same name there belongs to an unrelated health company), and none was found on Google Play. The terms still contain standard wording about app-store purchases, but every plan and token pack is sold on the web. The site accepts cards, and one review reports crypto payment as well.

Support, cancellation and refunds

This is where Darlink is weakest. Support is by email only, through two different addresses (support@ for billing on the refund page, contact@ in the terms). The refund page says cancellation “takes effect once our customer support team receives your written cancellation notice”, and the terms say you can cancel in account settings. Users report both: an August 2026 review summarised Reddit threads from January to April 2026 in which subscribers could not find a cancel control, emailed repeatedly, and were told support would enable a cancel button on their profile, which took about two days in one case; another user eventually found it at the bottom of Settings, Account Information, in small print. Trustpilot reviews from 2026 add complaints about missing confirmation emails and short plans renewing at higher prices.

Refunds are narrow. The refund page grants them only for fraud, platform errors or termination by Darlink without cause, and rules out change of mind, accidental purchases and unused tokens. The terms add a discretionary 24-hour window with minimal use. The refund page also warns that if you file a chargeback, Darlink may send your account records, including private messages, to the bank or card processor as evidence. That is unusual and worth knowing before you dispute a charge.

Who it is for

Darlink suits adults who want a large, mostly user-made library of explicit roleplay characters on the web, like the idea of publishing their own companions, and value knowing the token price of an image or video before they pay. It is a poor choice for anyone who wants strong image quality, documented memory, an app, or a subscription that is easy to stop. If you try it, pay monthly rather than yearly, use a card you can cap, and find the cancel control on the first day.

Tokens have no cash value and are not refunded

Essential’s 100 tokens buy 50 images or 5 videos a month. A user who wants 20 videos a month on Essential needs 400 tokens, so 300 extra: one 350-token pack at $34.99, for about $48 a month in total, which is roughly what Ultimate costs with only 500 tokens included. The base price of a token falls from about 10 cents at the smallest pack to 8 cents at the largest.

The plan page uses per-day prices ($0.43 to $1.67 a day), a countdown timer and a “50% off Ultimate” banner. An August 2026 review found the yearly toggle carried a “save 44%” badge while the real yearly discounts were 23% to 34%. Judge the plans on the monthly totals above.

Safety, privacy and content policy

What the terms allow and ban

The terms of service (FameLink SA, Swiss law outside the US, New York law and arbitration for US users) list “pornographic, sexually explicit, or highly obscene” content as prohibited, while saying the service “may allow some adult-oriented conversation between consenting adults”. They ban sexual content involving minors, bestiality, non-consensual sexual violence, hate speech and content facilitating trafficking. The 2257 page cites US record-keeping law for simulated explicit imagery.

Age checks

Users must be 18 or over. The check is self-declared; the terms say accounts may be suspended “pending age verification” if Darlink suspects a minor, but no verification method is described.

Data and privacy

Chats, voice messages and images are stored, may be analysed by automated tools, and may be used, in anonymised form, to train the AI. Google Analytics and the Facebook Pixel are used for analytics and advertising. Deletion is self-serve or by email, with backups retained for a time. GDPR rights are acknowledged. The refund page reserves the right to share private messages with a bank during a chargeback.

History

No breach, regulator action or store removal was found. The record is mainly billing complaints: Trustpilot shows 2.6 from 11 reviews, as reported in October 2026, with cancellation the top theme.

Where marketing and terms disagree

The site sells an “AI Porn Generator” and “AI NSFW Chat”; the terms prohibit sexually explicit content. Users cannot tell from the documents what is actually permitted.

How to cancel Darlink AI

On the website, sign in on a desktop browser, open Settings, then Account Information, and look for the cancel option at the bottom of the page. If it is missing, email support@darlink.ai with your account email and a clear request to cancel; the refund page says cancellation takes effect when support receives written notice, and replies can take up to three business days. Keep the email as proof. Access continues to the end of the paid month or year and does not renew. Refunds for change of mind or unused tokens are refused; only fraud, platform errors or termination without cause qualify, plus a discretionary 24-hour request under the terms.

Questions people ask

Is Darlink AI free?

Only as a short trial. A free tier is mentioned in the terms, but no free message or token allowance is published, and regular use needs a plan from $12.99 a month.

How much does Darlink AI cost?

Essential is $12.99 a month, Advanced $27.99 and Ultimate $49.99, with lower monthly equivalents reported on yearly billing. Images cost 2 tokens and videos 20 tokens on every plan.

Does Darlink AI allow NSFW?

The website markets NSFW chat and explicit image generation on all paid plans, but the terms of service list sexually explicit content as prohibited. In practice it operates as an adult service; the written rules do not match.

Is Darlink AI safe?

It is a real Swiss-registered company and no breach has been reported. The risks are billing (hard-to-find cancellation, renewals at higher prices reported), self-declared age checks, and chats that may be used for training or shared with your bank in a chargeback.

How do I cancel Darlink AI?

Look under Settings, Account Information, near the bottom of the page on desktop. If no cancel option appears, email support@darlink.ai in writing and keep the reply; cancellation runs to the end of the paid period.

What is Darlink AI’s refund policy?

Refunds are given only for fraud, platform errors or termination without cause. Change of mind and unused tokens are not refunded, though the terms allow a discretionary request within 24 hours of purchase.

Does Darlink AI have an app?

No. It runs in the browser on desktop and mobile; no official iOS or Android app was found in October 2026.

Who runs Darlink AI?

FameLink SA, based in Montsevelier, Jura, Switzerland. Disputes go to arbitration in Geneva for non-US users and under New York law for US users, with a 30-day opt-out.

Is Darlink AI down right now?

Live result from our monitor, which loads the public homepage every 15 minutes from a server in Europe. If the site is up but the app misbehaves after login, that is an in-app problem the check cannot see.
