Short answer: no. Candy AI offers a trial with a limited number of messages and basic characters, and after that everything runs on a subscription with tokens on top. It is a good product, and the subscription is not expensive on its own; the confusion comes from what the subscription does not include. What the trial includes

The free trial allows a limited number of messages with basic characters. It does not include image generation, voice or video, and it does not continue indefinitely. Once the messages are used, you are prompted to subscribe.

What the subscription costs

Premium is around $13 or €13.99 a month on monthly billing, about €8.99 a month on a three-month plan, and an annual promotion advertised at roughly €3.99 a month under a “70% off” banner. Those prices cover chat and access to the character library.

What tokens gate

Images, voice and Live Action video all consume tokens, which you buy in packs and “top up anytime”. Candy does not publish a per-image or per-clip token cost on its pricing page, which is the single most common complaint in reviews: the sticker price is not the monthly price for anyone who generates media. Reviewers also report that longer-term memory depends on tokens.

Three worked examples

• Chat only. You subscribe, never generate media, and pay the subscription price. On the annual promotion that is the cheapest way to use Candy, and the product is polished.

• Images a few times a week. Expect to buy at least one token pack a month. Reviewers describe the real cost as “well above the sticker price” without agreeing on a number, because the per-image cost is not published.

• Video regularly. Live Action clips up to 120 seconds are the most token-hungry feature. Budget for regular packs; if you want to know the cost before paying, Candy cannot tell you.

Compare the maths elsewhere

MyBabes publishes its rates: one token per image, three to five tokens per second of video, so a five-second clip is about 15 to 25 tokens, and Premium includes 500 tokens for €14.99 a month or €9.99 on a three-month plan.
