AI companion apps that actually generate video in 2026

Twelve apps advertise video. Ranked by what the clips cost, how long they run, and how often they finish, based on published pricing and documentation.

Video is the feature every companion app now puts on its homepage and the one most of them deliver worst. Some generate a real clip from your character. Some animate a still with a preset. Some play a pre-made clip when a keyword appears. The pricing pages rarely say which. This ranking sorts twelve apps by four things: whether video exists on a published plan, how long a clip runs, what it costs in the app’s currency, and how reliably it completes according to documentation and user reports.

Video generation: the top five compared

Why MyBabes ranks first

It is the only app in the group that names the engines it runs, Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 and Wan 2.7, and publishes the token maths: three tokens per second at 480p on the fast engine, five at 720p, so a five-second clip is roughly 15 to 25 tokens. On the Premium plan’s 500 tokens that is 20 to 30 short clips a month before buying a pack. Nobody else lets you calculate the cost before paying. The trade-offs are real: it is browser-only, it has no voice calls, and pricing is shown in euros.

The mainstream pair

Candy AI’s Live Action video, up to 120 seconds since February 2026, is the longest clip in the category and the quality is good. What Candy does not publish is what a clip costs in tokens, and “top up anytime” is the phrase reviewers keep quoting. OurDream AI ranks lower for a different reason: its clips exist and its coins are counted, but independent reviews report that generation fails often enough to matter, and coins are spent either way.

Generated or preset? What to check before paying

Included versus metered

Nomi and Kindroid take a different route. Nomi includes roughly five-second clips from any image in a companion’s album on its paid plan, with a wait of about five minutes; Kindroid does not make clips at all but offers live video calls with lip-sync. Neither will produce a cinematic clip, but neither will surprise you with a bill.

Presets and pre-made clips

Lovescape, Dream Companion and GirlfriendGPT animate from presets or pre-made prompts, which is fine for a moving portrait and not what the word “generation” implies. Nectar AI’s Ultimate tier plays keyword-triggered clips, which reviewers describe as pre-made. Promptchan and Seduced AI are generators without a companion around them: strong output, no relationship layer.

What to check before paying

  • Is the clip generated or preset? Look for words like “animate” or “pose” on the pricing page.

  • What does one clip cost? If the page does not say, assume it costs more than an image and budget a token pack.

  • Which tier? Several apps advertise video on the homepage and sell it only on the top plan.

  • Does it finish? Search the app name with “video failed” before subscribing; the complaints are consistent per app.

  • Can you cancel? Every profile on this site lists the cancel steps.

Scores in the table come from the same scorecard used across the site; the ranking here weights the video evidence rather than the overall score.

Candy AI

Kindroid

Multi-feature

Lovescape

From $5.99/mo (annual)

Nectar AI

Multi-feature

6.8

Strong character building and solid image generation at a low annual price, but long-term memory, video and voice chat sit on the $34.99 Ultimate tier and advanced models and memory bill extra credits per message.

Dream Companion

Among the cheapest explicit roleplay platforms on an annual plan, with a clear blocked-content list. Coin costs are hidden until you pay, voice is weak and charged per replay, and media quality is average.
