Janitor AI is a text-only roleplay platform, and a good one: it is free, its community has built an enormous library of characters, and it lets you bring your own model through a proxy. What it does not do is generate images or video. It is a reasonable middle ground for someone who wants occasional images without a media-heavy platform. We could not confirm video generation on its homepage, so treat any claims about video with caution.

The most Janitor-like alternative: free core features, community-created characters and a chat-first design. Its image support is basic by design: you can generate a character avatar from a prompt on any tier, and “Conversation Images” that depict what is happening in the chat are reserved for the paid tiers, and on the lower paid tier only for selected characters. If you want a free Janitor replacement and can live with modest visuals, this is the one.

6. CrushOn

Another chat-first platform with a large community character base. CrushOn has launched in-chat NSFW image generation, but it was introduced as a beta for internal testing and remains the experimental part of the product.
